Sample Itinerary: Best of Belize Jungles
Guided Ecotours & adventure by day, pampered lodging by night
Day 1: After you have cleared customs in Belize City you will connect to your in-country flight to Punta Gorda. Upon your arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by a friendly representative and transferred to your jungle lodge accommodations where you will spend the next 4 nights. (D)
Day 2: Today you will go out with your guide to explore the surrounding jungles of the lodge. You will learn about the medicinal plants of the area while enjoying the abundant wildlife surrounding you. Perfect for bird lovers! (B, L, D)
Day 3: Guided boat adventure on the Rio Grande or Moho River to explore a variety of Belize’s flora and fauna, including Howler Monkeys, numerous tropical birds and green iguanas. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Do you love chocolate? See how cacao is grown, learn to process chocolate, and enjoy lunch with a Mayan family in their home. (B, L, D)
Day 5: After breakfast you will be transferred back to Punta Gorda, where you board your in-country flight back to Belmopan. Upon arrival you will be met by your next friendly representative that will transfer you to your next jungle lodge. Your next 3 nights will be spent lodging in a jungle cabana or tree house. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Spend the day in the pristine jungle with local bushmen guides. Learn many of the secrets that the jungle holds. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Explore the Belize Jungles and the rivers of the underworld by inner-tube, with only your headlamp to light your way. (B, L, D)
Day 8: After breakfast you will be transferred by van and boat to the Orange Walk District for your last 2 nights of Belize jungle exploration. (B, L, D)
Day 9: This morning you will be accompanied by an expert guide as you explore the mysterious jungle-shrouded temples of this once powerful 3000 year old civilization, the Lamanai Ruins. After dinner, climb aboard a custom built river safari boats and head out into the night. This exciting adventure gives you the opportunity to encounter anything from the Morelet’s crocodile to the elusive and endangered jaguar. (B, L, D)
Day 10: Explore the jungle as it awakens and dawn breaks through the canopy as your naturalist guide explains the intricacies of a habitat that is home to many diverse creatures. After this amazing early morning tour, you will fly back aboard a charter plane to Belize International Airport to connect with your flight home.
