Find Adventure in Guatemala Off the Beaten Path

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Antigua
You will be met upon your arrival to Guatemala City and transferred to the beautiful city of Antigua (1hr).

Day 2:
Comalapa Market, Alaska biking and hiking (B,L,D).
Today you visit the town of San Juan Comalapa, which is famous for its local market. Once there you will have time to wander through the market and admire the native painters. After lunch enjoy hiking and biking down to Totonicapan – Overnight in Antigua

Day 3:
Hike & Bike Zunil Ridge (B,L,D)
Today you transfer even deeper into the Guatemalan highlands to the spectacular Zunil mountain range where you will enjoy stunning views. At times guests will be able to see ten volcano peaks at the same time whilst hiking and biking! During the bike ride you will stop at a remote local village and presence weaving arts. After lunch, head to the shores of Lake Atitlan. – Overnight Lake Atitlan

Day 4: Kayak and Hike Cerro de Oro at Lake Atitlan (B,L,D)
This morning you will kayak on what many have called, “the most beautiful lake in the world”, Lake Atitlan. Pass by local fishermen, indigenous Maya women doing their washing and men working in the fields wearing their famous embroidered Santiago shorts as well as enjoying views of the three lake volcanoes. Once at Cerro de Oro guests will hike this impressive hill and on the top of this sacred hill. Sometimes guests can witness Mayan rituals in process which is an amazing and authentic glimpse of local Mayan life in this area. Enjoy the great views of the whole lake and the surrounding volcanoes from the top of this hill. When ready, you will be transferred back to the lodge on local pick up trucks. After lunch, visit the town of Santiago, this lively Tzutuhil Maya town with its market and its strange Maya God, “ Maximon”. Locals revere and perform rituals in front of Maximon to bring good luck – or bad!

Day 5: Coffee farm biking and hiking, transfer to Antigua (B,L,D)
Transfer to the unique and gorgeous farm of los Tarales on the slopes of giant Atitlan volcano. Learn about the coffee procession and have a peak around in the tropical plants nursery. This is a real living farm as it has its own school and a habituated village. Explore the area by bike. – Overnight in Antigua

Day 6: Pacaya Volcano Hike (B,L,D)
You will have breakfast with the tour leader before they will be transferred to Pacaya National Park where we will begin our hiking ascent of this famous, active volcano! The hike takes around 2.5 hours and at the top you can see down into the crater to the lava as well as experience the energy of an active volcano. On the return to Antigua, you can enjoy a fun guided tour through the colonial city. Dinner in one of the many local restaurants. – Overnight in Antigua

Day 7: Transfer to Guatemala City, Flight to Peten, Zip line adventure Jungle Hike and Temples (B,L,D)
-Today you will be transferred to Guatemala City (1hr) and for your flight to the northern rainforest in the Peten (40min). A short drive brings you deep into the rainforest to the shore of Tikal (1hr). Enjoy time at the pool and lunch before starting our jungle trek ending at the complex called “Mundo Perdido” for the sunset. Jungle Trek at Tikal (Up to 3 hours) – Overnight at Tikal

Day 8: Tikal and Zip line adventure (B,L)
Today you will take a guided tour of the famous Maya temple site in the jungle. Lunch is included at a local restaurant and in the afternoon guests go for a zip line / canopy tour. Late afternoon transfer to the airport for evening flight to Guatemala City. At the airport you will be met by their driver for the transfer to your hotel. The rest of the evening is free to enjoy the nightlife of Guatemala City or Antigua.

Day 9: Departure
You will be met at your hotel by you driver and transferred to the international airport for your departure flight home.
